Be a Better Horseman-Craig Cameron
Night Latch or Bucking Strap
A handy piece of equipment I have on every saddle is a night latch or bucking strap. It's a leather or nylon strap that buckles or fastens around the gullet of the saddle. It serves as a handhold when a horse bolts, bucks or jumps. A horse can quickly snatch a saddle horn out of your hand, but you can hold on to a strap much easier. This simple strap saved me countless times.
