That West Texas wind can cut right through you. While photographing a training article with barrel racing guru Dena Kirkpatrick, who lives in Post, Texas, the temperature was around 30 degrees and dropping fast. But the light sure was nice, and I was wanting to get a unique photo. So I lay down on the ground with a wide angle lens and positioned myself close to the barrel. I think it gives a different perspective to this classic barrel racing action shot. And if that low vantage point got me out of that bone-chilling breeze, I wasn’t complaining.
