I was working on a story on the Tongue River Ranch in West Texas, and Stoney Jones needed to bring in the remuda. The photo wasn’t planned, but it turned into a good shot. Every time I look at it, one of the first individuals I notice is the draft mule, used by the ranch to pull its wagon in the spring. But there he is, loping along as proud as any saddle horse.
