A palomino ranch gelding watches the sun rise before a busy work day on the JA Ranch. Shortly after I began working for Western Horseman, I got the chance to do a photo shoot on the historic Texas cattle operation. It was established by legendary cattleman Charles Goodnight and John Adair, whose descendants still own and operate the ranch. It was a photogenic place, and this is just one of shots I took while there. An article about the JA Ranch appeared in the May 2007 issue.
