A lot of times I photograph ranches with vast, wide open country, but it’s not always easy to capture expansive landscapes in a photo. However, this shot seems to show the big picture. Matt and Patty Wald help operate their family’s cattle operation near Lodge Grass, Montana. The photo ended up in the 2016 Western Horseman calendar.
