Western Horseman 2027 Calendar Contest

What We Are Looking For: 

Content 

• Authentic, geographically diverse images of cowboys, cowgirls and kids engaged in everyday, year-round ranch work. 

• Photography must reflect real moments and real work. Images from staged photo shoots, workshops or manufactured scenarios will not be accepted. 

• All images must be previously unpublished and may not have appeared in calendars, magazines, books, online publications or promotional campaigns. 

• Subjects should be dressed in clothing that accurately represents the Western lifestyle. Tank tops, sleeveless shirts, athletic shoes and baseball caps are not accepted. 

• Humane animal handling is required. Photos showing cattle or horses being handled roughly will not be accepted. 

• Strong Western scenery is highly valued, along with close-up details of authentic cowboy gear and lifestyle elements. 

• Images featuring working stock horses in natural ranch settings are encouraged. 

Format 
All submissions must be digital and may be sent as JPEG, TIFF or RAW files. 

Each image must include the following information: 

• Location, including ranch, town and state 

• Names, first and last, of individuals pictured 

• Approximate date the photo was taken 

• Do not submit photos or illustrations that have been previously published, including images that have appeared in past calendars. 

• Submitted photographs must have been taken in 2024 or later. 

How to Submit 
Please submit a link to your photo options along with a separate document containing captions using the form below. If your download link requires a password or download code, be sure to include it in the appropriate field.
