Digital Content Coordinator, Fort Worth, TX

Morris Equine Group is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented content creator and digital community manager to join the team. The person in this role will play a critical part in our content creation efforts, working with the editorial and marketing teams to create and manage daily website, email and social content for titles such as Western Horseman, Quarter Horse News, Barrel Horse News, Stallion Register, EquiStat as well as partner brands. The Digital Content Coordinator will oversee digital content, social media, email marketing and other related media solutions to drive traffic to and across the Equine Group digital landscape to improve customer experience, increase engagement across all platforms and support digital revenue objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage Equine Group digital content including:

  • Create and execute a strong content plan across media platforms to drive website traffic, increase social media following and engagement and grow the presence of the equine audience
  • Publish content on Equine Group sites using WordPress and other CMS software
  • Work closely with editorial staffs to increase website traffic, social media following, search engine optimization, monthly goal setting and other forms of engagement
  • Strategize & develop a monthly content calendar and execute daily postings across social media channels including both organic and paid content
  • Create engaging video content for TikTok and Instagram Reels both from events and from existing content
  • Curate and optimize content for weekly/quarterly/monthly e-newsletters
  • Oversee digital and social media channel content to ensure alignment with brand standards
  • Be an advocate across the digital brands, engaging in positive, proactive brand-appropriate dialogue and answering questions/providing assistance, support and direction where appropriate

Key Skills Required:

  • Keen understanding of cultural and social aspects of the Equine Industry
  • Understanding and appreciation for the digital landscape, including websites, web design and content best practices, blogs, podcasts, social media, online community destinations, etc.
  • Relevant web management and optimization experience
  • Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision, but also able to effectively work within a team
  • Exceptional time-management and prioritization skills including creating, maintaining and deploying multiple projects on set deadlines

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and two years of professional experience in Communications with a strong emphasis on Digital Media
  • Highly motivated individual with proven experience in writing/developing and managing corporate digital content, social media content, and related marketing solutions
  • Web management & optimization experience
  • Knowledge of the social media landscape
  • Knowledge of latest SEO practices
  • Knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Knowledge of WordPress content management system
  • Familiarity with various photo and video editing software and platforms such as Adobe CC
  • Familiarity with email platforms such as MailChimp

    WH For Credit Internship (unpaid)

    The WH internship program is a unique opportunity to gain experience creating content for the World’s Leading Horse Magazine, Since 1936. Interns will work alongside our award-winning editorial staff to craft compelling web stories, social media content and potential print articles, while fine-tuning their skills in video, photography, copywriting and copyediting. Interns work on a part-time, unpaid basis for three to five months and receive practical experience as well as course credit.

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Create unique, authentic and well-researched content centered around rodeo, ranching, horsemanship and the advocation of the Western way of life
    • Craft original copy and creative to be used on WHsocial media, website and print magazine under the direction of the WH editor
    • Conduct interviews with rodeo athletes, horse trainers, ranchers or other industry professionals with confidence
    • Content can include photos, videos/reels, written articles and social media stories

    Qualifications:

    • Must be a current college student enrolled in a recognized academic or vocational school
    • Must be able to receive course credit as this is an unpaid, for-credit position
    • Superior attention to detail with strong writing, grammar and communication skills
    • Proficient with Microsoft products and social platforms. Website and Adobe familiarity a plus
    • Must conduct oneself with professionalism and be in good standing with their youth rodeo organizations

    Must have a respectful social media presence (while a social media presence is not a requirement, if the Ambassador does have social media, it must be respectful and hold up to WH standards)
