Dance in the Dirt

For more than 100 years, the rough-and-tumble nature of rodeo has been the sport's biggest draw. In addition to offering traditional events, such as bareback riding, barrel racing, team roping and steer wrestling, many rodeos also offer unique events like wild cow milking. I shot this image in the arena with my wide angle lens. It's one thing to watch an event from the safety of the stands, but it gives you an entirely different sensation in your gut when you're at ground zero and a wild cow comes running at you with that certain look in her eye. Fortunately she turned right before I shot this.
