Five individuals as unique as the event itself judge the world’s best colt starters at horsemanship’s most prestigious event. Each judge on the panel is an expert in their discipline, bringing with them a mix of fresh perspectives and seasoned expertise. By selecting individuals from varied backgrounds with differing skill sets, experiences and viewpoints, Road to the Horse ensures a dynamic and inclusive approach. These judges, both new and veteran, are open-minded, adaptable and committed to considering all methodologies of horsemanship, allowing for a well-rounded judging process. With an emphasis on building a solid foundation, each judge evaluates every step from beginning to end, as each competitor creates a connection with their colt.
This year’s distinguished panel of judges include Caroline Godin, Eric Hoffman, Chance O’Neal, Jesse Westfall, and Jeff Williams.
Meet the Judges

I thought the relationship between last year’s winner and his colt was deteriorating rapidly by the end and if it had gone on much longer, he might have got bucked off. Ego had stepped in and the colt be damned.
I hope this years’ judges don’t let this happen again.
