Have you given a horse a new home and a new career? Western Horseman and The Right Horse Initiative want to celebrate stories of horses that were at risk for becoming unwanted and neglected but instead found the right person and the right place to go. Tell us your adoption or rehoming story and send us a photo—we’re on the hunt for select stories to share with the stock horse world.horse adoption stories graphic

Regardless of why horses become unwanted—hard financial times, poor owner choices, or bad luck circumstances—no one wants to see them suffer, especially people whose livelihood is taking care of stock. Helping and caring for animals is the Western way of life, plain and simple.

That’s why Western Horseman along with our sister equine publications at Morris Communications Company, LLC, have partnered with The Right Horse Initiative. The initiative supports groups of all kinds coming up with new ways to increase adoption and rehoming for horses in need across the United States. To find out more, head to: therighthorse.org.
