Designing a Durable, Aesthetically Pleasing Equestrian Building

Morton Equestrian Facility

Horse safety and comfort are top priorities when designing a new horse barn or riding arena. Morton Buildings, a leader in the construction of equestrian facilities, also focuses on providing durability, efficient functionality and a pleasing aesthetic style.

With a Morton horse facility, equestrian enthusiasts can enjoy their hobby to the fullest. Our high-quality materials, craftsmanship and industry-leading warranties deliver a building that is built stronger, lasts longer and looks better.

Equestrian buildings are among the most popular structures currently being built across the United States by Morton Buildings. With construction centers nationwide, we work closely with customers in all aspects of the design and building process.

Our horse stables and stall barns are carefully planned and well-designed to make horse care easier and enhance personal satisfaction and riding enjoyment. Important considerations include sound construction, labor-saving conveniences, a building style that harmonizes with its surroundings and a planning procedure that accounts for current and possible future needs.

Our horse barns are equipped with a variety of stylish stalls, exterior doors and accessories to finish your building.

Indoor riding

Morton indoor riding arenas enable equestrian enthusiasts to enjoy their passion year-round, regardless of the outside weather. Fully enclosed riding arenas enable you to control the climate in your building. The open-framed design offers structural rigidity and a sense of openness. For outdoor riding arenas, many design options are available.

Morton also offers quality pasture shelters and hay storage buildings for your horses to take shelter from the elements.

Benefits of post-frame construction

As a leader in post-frame construction, Morton can deliver a strong, durable building to meet owners’ current and future needs. Every detail is designed for minimal maintenance, with various design options available to complement any existing structures on the property.

Morton structures are highly engineered and structurally sound, including:

  • Morton’s Hi-Rib steel, providing superior strength and durability to help withstand the wear and tear that animals inflict on a building.
  • Energy Performer® Insulation Package, which provides maximum comfort and energy savings.
  • Aesthetic decor options, such as steel and stone wainscots, cupolas, porches, Dutch doors, turkey tails and cedar accent options.
  • The Morton Foundation System®, which uses concrete lower columns in the foundation, rather than wood, to create a stronger and more durable building.
  • The Fluoroflex® paint system, offering superior protection against fading, chalking, paint peeling and red rust.
  • Morton’s hybrid truss system, offering more usable arena space than typical all-steel structures.
  • Stainless-steel screws and rust-resistant ring shank fasteners to help prevent rust and corrosion.
  • Protection against high winds and snow loads. This includes Morton’s unequaled five-year wind warranty and a 50-year snow warranty for most buildings with no weight limit.

Design your own 3D Studio storage facility

A lot of factors go into building a new equestrian facility. Horse owners can now design their own barn using Morton Buildings’ 3D Studio online tool.

With this tool, users can dynamically design and visualize their own Morton post-frame building with modern layouts, dimensions and colors that fit their style and needs. It’s intuitive, easy to use and extremely flexible.

The 3D Studio allows the user to determine the ideal building dimensions based on the specific size of their equestrian facility.

When working in the 3D Studio, users can zoom in and move around the building to fully engage in the design. They can easily add doors, windows, porches, and other functional and/or aesthetic features to their building design.

The finished design can then be sent to the Morton team for a sales consultation to help ensure the building design meets the owner’s vision, needs and budget, and that it’s designed and engineered to the proper specifications. To try out the tool, visit mortonbuildings.com/3d-studio.
