Around the ranch or in the arena, durable tack designed for proper fit and function is a key factor for a horseman’s success. Weaver Leather’s Working Cowboy Collection showcases leather strap goods handmade in the U.S.A. from top-quality weighted harness leather.
With the cowboy in mind, this collection is dipped in oil, dressed with saddle butter and hand rubbed for quality feel and performance a true horseman can trust.
While the Working Cowboy Collection features a variety of leather straps in headstalls and reins, it shows off a popular piece among western riders, particularly ranchers and ropers. This piece of equipment is known as a pulling breast collar. Rather than crossing a horse’s chest from side-to-side like some other styles, the pulling collar sits just above the line of the horse’s shoulders and buckles around the pommel of the saddle. This is a preferred style for freedom of shoulder movement or enhanced leverage when pulling.
Constructed of non-rust stainless steel hardware, Weaver Leather’s pulling breast collar has a center dee with leather backer for protection against the horse, roller buckles for easy attachment to the saddle, thumb snap for cinch attachment, and a small dee convenient for running through a martingale, tie down or other piece if desired. Rich in a golden chestnut color the collar width tapers from 2-3/4” to 2” and comes complete with built in pockets for strap access.
