When Carol Williamson’s husband, Doug, died, her life changed. As a reined cowhorse trainer, when they went to a show Doug took a trailer full of horses, hired help and rented two tack stalls. Carol played a supporting role, getting in the arena herself when there was time.
Carol loves going down the fence. She loves the people and she loves her palomino gelding. Samson is her strongest tie to Doug and the life they shared. But that life looks different now. When she goes to a show she hauls in with her two-horse trailer. She takes one saddle pad, one saddle, all her grooming gear and enough supplies for a day or two.
“Now, I don’t have Doug here, and I would like to continue showing in the cowhorse and going to the shows, but it’s a different experience now,” Carol said.
Carol knows she can count on her friends in the horse world for anything she needs. But she doesn’t want to.
“I want to maintain my independence,” Carol said. “I want to show my horse, take care of my horse and continue that lifestyle. I just have to figure out a way.”

Independent Solutions
Showing Samson isn’t optional for Carol. The same determination that led her through successful careers in fashion and finance is keeping her in the show pen, even as hauling tack, supplies and equipment has become more challenging on her own.
“When I saw the tack cart, I thought that’s a way that I can continue to function without quite so much help. It’s much easier than working out of the trailer tack room.”
The tack cart is part of a line of equipment designed to make horse life easier.
Built in Mount Hope, Ohio, Weaver Equine’s new aluminum equipment line brings the functionality of a professional show box to horsemen who want to stay organized at home, in the trailer or at the show grounds. Drawing on years of experience building livestock show equipment, the company adapted the same practical approach for horse owners.
The lineup includes rolling tack boxes, utility carts, grooming stations, saddle, saddle pad and bridle racks, and portable storage solutions designed to keep horsemen organized from the tack room to the arena.
“The cart was easy for me to push, it handled all the stuff that I need. It’s something that could make life a lot easier for me at this point.” Carol said. “And it’s diamond plate. Who doesn’t like diamond plate?

Additional equipment includes portable saddle racks, grooming baskets, saddle pad racks and bridle racks that help keep tack organized, protected and ready to use at home, in the trailer or at the show.
For Carol, the equipment represents more than organization. It represents the ability to keep saddling up, loading up and showing Samson without relying on someone else.
That’s the idea behind Weaver Equine’s aluminum equine equipment line: practical tools designed by horsemen to make horse life a little easier, whether you’re heading to a horse show, working in the barn or loading up for the next adventure.
